The climate of the city of Zurich
Zurich is situated 408 meters above sea level, at the latitude of 47 degrees. The climate of the city is warmer than the climate of other places at the same latitude, thanks to the warm and wet winds coming from the Atlantic.
We have four seasons in the city of Zurich:

Spring (March, April, May): The green city of Zurich attracts visitors with many colorful flowers in the spring. Coffee shops put their tables on the sidewalks and create a holiday feeling all over the city. The daily average temperature gets higher month by month, from 10 degrees Celsius in March to18 degrees Celsius in May. The swimming houses open their doors in the mid of May and many of them function as a bar in the evenings. Due to the average of 7 sunny hours per day, you can enjoy summer-like warm and sunny days.

Summer (June, July, August): The summer in Zurich is pleasantly warm; the temperature of the water of the lake and that of the rivers is approximately 21 degrees Celsius. The daily average temperature is 24 degrees Celsius. July is the warmest month of the year. The parks and the woods in and around the city are also a place to meet and to chill out after work. The nature keeps their deep green colors thanks to the frequent refreshing rain showers.

Autumn (September, October, November): You can enjoy the mild Indian summer in September, with an average daily temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. There are about 10 rainy days per month during the autumn time. Days start getting colder in October (average daily temperature of 14 degrees Celsius) and November (average daily temperature of 7 degrees Celsius). The lakeside of Zurich attracts many for a stroll with an enchanting view of the beautiful snow capped mountains.

Winter (December, January, February): The daily average temperature is 4 degrees Celsius. There are a lot of sunny hours during the winter time as well. It snows several times, but the snow melts as soon as the next warmer days follow. January is the coldest month of the year. The ice skating rings, the Christmas market and concerts as well as the festive illumination in the city center welcome visitors with a beautiful winter atmosphere. |
